Hi Yes, NHS vit D can take 3 weeks. When ever you have blood done, ask what they are testing. For Iron/ferritin there are 2 tests, you need to ask for the one with a transference % , this measure absorption and the only way of telling if your iron/ferritin is OK.This is Endo. b12 needs to be higher, only injections really work. Unless seeing an Endo unlikely the gP will help with that. if vit D low, then you need a calcium test before treatment, ask.
You also need cholesterol, relevant , diabetes, autoimmune, hormonal too.D is hormonal ideally under an Endo.
Thanks Jackie, I saw endo in January, not consultant I was meant to see. 4-45p.m,
he spent about 20 minutes telling me my tests were " in range", didn't seem interested in how I felt.He finally said I could have folate tested. Think he just wanted to go home.I was last one there. So I said goodbye and left. He said he would write to my dr, but not heard anything yet.
