Is fainting a symptom if Hashis ? Or rather near fainting spells .
Hi Avalyn, I used to get these symptoms before I was treated after having a sub-total thyroidectomy. These symptoms and many others went once treatment was started, which was not until 18 years after the operation. Going back downhill again since Eltroxin has been taken off the market, but find Wockhardt better than Mercury Pharma or Actavis (called Almus if from Boots). Wish you well. Janet.
Hi Janet , thanks for your reply , sorry to hear you feeling symotoms return . I had no idea Eltroxin is discontinued , I seem to be able to get it fine here in Ireland at the moment . I must ask the pharmacy about it . I feel bad enough with all these faint spells without having to change med brands . Wishing you better health . A
Eltroxin is not available in the UK but does seem to be in Ireland. (Eltroxin in most other countries will be different products made to different formulas by different companies.)
This aspect is one of the peculiarities of the situation which has not been explained at all.

Your profile here does not give a country so anyone looking there would most likely assume UK.

Thanks , I had no idea about this . Profile edited too
Hi Avalyn65, I was getting fainting spells, and I have to say they are improving with B12 injections and i'm increasing Folate and iron supplements as these are low too.
Another reason for fainting spells is adrenal fatigue.
Hi It can be low vit D, hormonal. or if sort of sinking potassium. To be sure have both tested. potassium is in U`s and E`s, kidney function. Both sodium and Potassium in those vital as electrolytes , also calcium which ineeds to be watched if on D, and magnesium. All must always be in range.
Menopause makes thyroid worse. I would find a good Endo and ask for a referral. An Endo covers all of the above. Also make sure iron/ferritin is well in range.
Best wishes,
Jackie
Thanks for the replies . Jackie my vit d is low at 22 and I am struggling to raise it since last year , it went up to 40 duri g tbe good summer months but dived again during winter . Mt celiac blood test was negative but I began gluten free diet after testing anyway to see if it helps . My ferritin was low but GP says its normal now . I will ask about all the other vitamins to be tested in meantime . I am just wondering if my Tsh of 7.2 warrants a dose increase from 50mcg but with all the hot flushes and heart palps I am worried it would make things worse instead of better . I am not officially in menopause yet , have only missed the last three months but the hormone test which I forget what it's called indicated I was indeed getting there . I am 48 . Thanks for all the advice . A
