Hi

Can you give some more details please.

Are you diagnosed?

On meds?

Have you got your latest thyroid blood results including the ranges?

Any other symptoms?

This information will help people to better offer informed support.

I was finally treated for hypo in March, dr has just upped my meds to 50mg of levo as I complained that I was feeling low and was fed up of them giving me anti ds, took 4 visits to the drs to get another blood test! I think my results where around 5or6 ( 0.2-4 is the range)

I suffer from a lot of the symtoms of hypo , feeling the cold, muscle aches, sleep problems, low mood, no motivation, there's probably more but I think it's just part of my daily life now.

I assume you were on 25mcg of T4 which is extremely low, normally 50mcg should be the start unless you are exremely frail. You have to get a print-out of your blood test results for your own records and so that you can post them here to enable members to comment. Labs throughout the country use different ranges and it is important that the ranges are quoted too.

If you say your TSH was around 5 or 6 your GP doesn't know very much. It is no wonder you are feeling awful. Also too, it could be negligent as lack of enough thyroid hormones affect every part of your body. 50mcg is a starting dose normally and you should have a blood test every 6 weeks with a rise in levo until you feel well without symptoms.

There are no blood tests for depression but they prescibe on clinical symptoms, but they ignore clinical symptoms of the thyroid gland.

Phone and make an appointment for a thyroid gland blood test and ask for T4, T3 to be done as well. Post your results here and the GP should most probably increase your meds.

t4-14(12-22) tft-5-09 (0-2-4) this is my last blood results

I was stated on 25mg because they didn't want to treat me, they said I was boarderline TSH 6.37 t4 12.3. Dr decided to treat my symptoms not the results. I've been told my other thyroid sites I might have hashi but I don't really understand it all.

Hypothyroidism and depression can go hand-in-hand:-

Yes depression can, but I do feel better coming off the anti ds apart from suffering very bad pms! "/

It's likely hypothyroid related but cardiac issues need to be ruled out IF pain is radiating down from the shoulder to the fingers.

The other thing to check is low calcium which can cause numbness and tingling. If you're prescribed calcium make sure you take it 4 hours away from your Levo.

Hi CL. Only guessing, but it seems (?) less likely that thyroid or endocrine issues in general would disturb one side only.

One outside/long shot possibility presuming that you have the hypothyroid and auto immune issues of many here (but a very long shot as it's rare, and effects on both an arm and a leg seem unlikely) could be Parsonage Turner syndrome - i had a bout of it once. It can have various root causes including auto immune issues or physical injury (mine was the former it looked like), but damage to nerve sheaths (typically the brachial nerve that controls an arm) can result in pain, weakness or temporary paralysis.

Mine sorted itself out, but at the time i was badly hypothyroid and had various auto immune disturbances too…
