Can someone look at my results please? Something not sitting right.....

I have been on Levothyroxine for 6 weeks and just had my bloods checked. I used 25mg for three weeks, then alternating 25/50mg for three weeks. The Wockhardt pills did not seem to agree with me, thankfully I have used them all and now using Actavis, which don't make me feel horrible when I take them.

I am a bit confused by my results, as I think they look ok? But I don't feel any dramatic benefit, still no energy, cold, trouble thinking, sore body etc etc etc and now I seem to be very snappy too!! Not me at all.

T4: 22.0 (9-24) Previously 14.6 in Sept 13, 14.0 in Jan 13, 18.5 in Nov 12, 16.3 in Oct 12, 13.6 in Feb 10.

T3: 4.5 (3.5-6.5) in Sept 13. No previous record.

TSH: 0.97 (0.3-6) Previously 2.21 in Sept 13, 1.08 in Jan 13, 1.40 in Nov 12, 1.06 in Oct 12, 1.77 in Feb 10.

PTH: 3.9 (1.6-7.5) In Sept 13, Previously 1.4 in Jan 13.

Cortisol: 642 (no range given, GP notes state 'fall in normal range') in Sept 13.

Vit B12: 357 (211-900) No previous record.

Vit D: 86 ( no range given, GP notes state 'High')

Iron: 13.2 (14-39) (GP notes state 'lowish')

Serum Folate: 23.6 (2.4-20) (GP notes state 'High')

Can anyone see anything obvious in these results please? I do understand that test results are not the be all and end all, but I understood the aim was to get the TSH down and the T4 up. That seems to have happened for me, but I am no further forward with my health!

I am also having problems with my Phosphate and Potassium levels being low, and take prescribed supplements and see a (useless, lol) Biochemist to find the cause - so far, after almost a year, diagnosis is I'm anxious!!

I also see a chest doctor at the hospital for a shadow on the lung/chest pain - not that he is too interested. Have never had an explanation as to what the shadow is, just fobbed off. Back again tomorrow......

I should now be on 75mg of Levothyroxine, as agreed by the prescribing Dr when first diagnosed as Hypo. I need to post these new results off tomorrow, for him to review.

Many thanks if anyone has any thoughts, I am really creaking at the seems and had a gut full, doesn't help when you have a heavy cold and you accidentally press 'something' and your completed post disappears into a cyber void! lol

Please advise if you can.

Thank you.

Hi) Your T4 is ok, but T3 isnt, which brings attention to the convertion issues you might have. B12 supplementation is deffinitely something to consider. Your iron is low, so I could guess that ferritin is too. My advise would be to test it and, having got the result, go see a doc about possible iron supplementation. These factors might be exactly the one's interfering in your convertion process. Plus low iron also gives you some hypo symptoms, like tiredness.

Thanks very much Inna, I will take your comments onboard. I am using spatone for my iron levels and got a B12 spray from Amazon to take. I've been Vegetarian for over 25 years so maybe I should have been doing this a while back, thought my multivitamin for Vegetarians was the bees knees - high levels of B12 + iron in it. Been wasting my money me thinks!

I don't see a result for ferritin on the bloods the GP done, I will follow this up. I was given iron tabs to take about 3 years ago but they gave me a sore stomach after just a few so the doc said to just stop them.

Thank you so much for taking the time and interest to reply. I am trying to learn what I need to know but it is very slow progress!

Best wishes to you.
