Low blood sugar, hi can anyone advise if/how this is treated? I had a glucose test and the final result was 1.8, my consultant saiid this
Hi Jennimc,
You URGENTLY need to see a doctor because you are Hypoglycemic, which means your blood sugars are far too low. I suffer from low blood sugars too and at one stage my blood sugars was 1.3. The normal range should be 4 to 5.
You could be a diabetic but the doctor would need to do a few blood tests to find this out. I am not a diabetic but still suffer from low blood sugars. You could be the same. Eating little and often keeps your blood sugars stable. Stay away from high sugary drinks because this will put you on a high very quickly and they very quickly you will fall low and shake and tremble. I know what you are going through. It is horrible.
I hope what I have told you helps you. Eat plenty of foods that contain carbohydrates. Carbohydrates keeps your blood sugars stable and start your day with a bowl of porridge every morning. I'll keep you in my prayers. Good luck!!
Thankyou so much for your advice I will give it a try x
