Basically , never felt well taking levo infact felt dreadful all the time and for many years, stopped it last year and felt fantastic, doc sent me to endo, he just put me back on it saying it was all in my head, the only test I ever had was TSH and a couple of times t4 never in 15 years been tested for anything else, after a year back on it back to feeling awfull and all that comes with it an endless list , tried coming off it once again feel fantastic it's wonderful no complaints whatsoever , yesterday seen my new endo, had tests done before hand, asked doc to include t4 and t3, again just done TSH , endo at long last is going to explore doing lots of tests. She said to go back on levo so she can see what my body does with it through tests, but out of interest I would like to know what my t4 and t3 results are before I have any meds in my body, should I go back to docs and ask if he would do the T3 and t4 test before I go back on it and then have all my other tests done that endo wants, sorry that seemed a long way to get to the point, hope you followed me x

Hi princess, might we assume that your TSH is really high and that is why they keep putting you on thyroxine? I can't think of any other reason to force you on a hormone that makes you feel worse.

If your TSH is within range they often won't do any follow up unless you are on a T4 pill and then they look at that and if both are all right, that's the end of it I suppose.

If you state your TSH level, perhaps we can dig into some reason why you feel so well without taking thyroid hormone. You could have an adrenal problem instead.

Hi It sounds as if you will not move the GP. I would try GP first as free, otherwise, can you pay for the TSH, T4 and Free T3 on line? Blue Horizon main site do an finger prick or venous blood, so long as you get the venous blood collected, do not use Spire as very expensive. This works out very reasonable, quote TUK 10 for a discount. it is a very well known Lab so fine with docs. If Endo NHS you could try GP if no use then, phone Endo`s sec and ask if you can have a form to have it at the hospital. Should be simple in that case.

Best wishes,

Jackie
