You need to post the ranges but going on your thyroid levels it looks like you are well overmedicated and in the hyper zone !

Agree with hypohen, that is very hyper! B12 is of course too low. Do you know what your folate and iron/ferritin are? Other useful result from the full blood count would be MCV.

Hi Corinne,

It tells you something about the size of your red blood cells:

labtestsonline.org.uk/under...

"Mean corpuscular volume (MCV) is a measurement of the average size of your RBCs. The MCV is elevated when your RBCs are larger than normal (macrocytic), for example in anaemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency or folic acid deficiency. When the MCV is decreased, your RBCs are smaller than normal (microcytic), which may indicate iron deficiency anaemia, inflammation or occasionally thalassaemias."

So an out of range MCV is significant and shouldn't be ignored, although it often is ignored by doctors if you don't show any other signs of anaemia. I personally think it's an issue at the top or bottom of the range as well, not just outside the range.

Another thing to bear in mind is that if you have both B12/folate deficiency AND iron deficiency, the MCV can appear normal.

Thank you Hypohen and Hamster1 for your replies. Dr P said my B12 was normal. The tests i mentioned are the only ones i had done, i am afraid i do not know the ranges. It's a shame Hypo is a bad thing as I was finally losing some weight

Although the results are way over the ranges the important thing is how do you feel.? Do you feel hyper ,and if you do a drop in meds is good.

Your HB is also very very high, normal range stops at 15.5 ! is your doctor not investigating this ?

The T3 and 4 are seriously high which is not good for you, the weight coming off is because you are Hyper.

Not what you're looking for?
