Hard red lump

Hi, had my tt13 days ago, have got a red swollen ridge above the incision about 1 inch wide and almost the full lenth of my scar al most 6inches feels hot and rubbery and quite hard to touch is this normal, feeling ok otherwise

I hav ethe same around my belly button wher ei had keyhole surgery fro gallbladder removal.it feels rubbery plus I can feel hard pea sized lumps around the wound but under my skin.no idea if they are normal?

I had TT 2006. I do not remember that happening but then I think I avoided looking at it! Maybe call your consultant just to check but I think if you feel ok it is fine.

Hi thanks for the replies, i have an appointment on thursday to see my consultant, neck still feels like a stretched elastic band waiting to snap, ikeep doing some neck stretching and it gives me a little relief am i expecting too much? I thought everything would feel back to normal by now

Hi Linda, Had TT 2010. It's very early days for you yet. My scar was very red and felt like it had a thick ridge. My neck also felt tight. Don't have a ridge or tightness, this will go. Sorry cant remember how long it took, but was a few months anyway. When the scar had closed I made sure to moisturise. I used Bio Oil but I suppose any suitable one will do. It takes time and I suppose everyone is different but the redness fades. I am very pleased as I never thought the scar was going to heal so well. Hope this helps.

thanks rosslyn, i think the redness is starting to calm down and the ridge subsiding a little, it just looked so red and angry the other day, need to wait a little

longer before i can start to moisturise

I have had the right thyroid lobectomy 5 days ago and I also have a lumpy area. but i think this because i still have staples in my neck. (coming out today!! thank god). I hope its because of this and not anything else. good luck

its now 4 weeks since my tt and still have a 2 inch red lump think its going to take a bit longer to heal also got to have speach therapy a lot of damage to my vocal cords, good luck today
