I've just obtained latest blood results after a 6 week increase from 75mcgs to 100 mcgs on Mercury Pharma thyroxine.I would welcome comments:
Not feeling as well as I hoped but trying to make allowances for the hot weather, which has knocked me out and still have stiffness in my legs....but maybe that is something else.GP on holiday for 2 weeks so may ask to see another if need be.
Of course the one reading which would be useful, and the labs won't do, is T3. My doctor panicked when my TSH was suppressed at 0.16 and wanted to decreased my dose from 112.5 to 100. You certainly seem to have enough T4, but if this is not converting to T3 properly (which is the active hormone used by the body) the T4 won't be helping you much.
Of course deficiencies in vits/minerals can affect converstion too. Mine were all okay and I have now started on a T3/T4 combo, early days but I have high hopes. Tingling in legs and toes are subsiding and muscle and joint pain is easing off too. I never like to get my hopes up too soon, the thyroid is a very fickle mistress.
Hope everything works out for you.

Thanks for that Jan....I will probably have to go private for T3 I think but will ask when I next get back to my surgery.I have been accepting NHS guidelines for ten years and really feel the need to get a true picture.
I've only become more informed since joining this group and being in contact with everyone...it's such a great help.
Hi Marfit,Please don't keep struggling,if your GP wont give you T3 ask for a referral to an endo. You shouldn't have to pay for T3 but a lot of GP's think of the money before the patient. Take care of yourself,no one else will.x
Thanks so much for your concern Beaton.I am asking Admin for a list of good Endos.I will get sorted eventually!!

Hello Marfit, I was in the same position as you (suppressed TSH and feeling awful) when I asked for a referral to a private endo and hence the trial of T3/T4 combo. I couldn't endure any more of the NHS and their TSH (11 years since diagnosed). I get all my additional tests from the endo and prescription on the NHS.

I think you are right Jan. I've been told year after year that my thyroid was normal and I didn't know any better, obviously not abrasive enough to challenge things.
It makes me determined now to find the real situation.
I feel like I'm watching my life pass by and not living it.
