got my Horizon pack today
It is a little difficult to work out what you mean when you say "should I take meds as normal" as this could mean taking the new 75mcg (as normal) or reverting to 100mcg day (as normal)
If you have been on reduced dose of 75mcg for only "this week" then having bloods done so soon might be too soon if you intend to have the blood test reflect the new 75mcg dosage as possibly being too low as testing too soon might only reflect your state while on the former 100mcg dose, due to the half life of levo being so long. Were I you and wanting reflection of the effects of the lowered dose I would wait at least two weeks. Others better informed than I am might have different ideas, though Blue Horizon must have expert views so perhaps you could ask them.
Better not to take the levo on the morning you take the bloods as this will flood you with T4 so your result will be spuriously high. Professor Bayliss used to advise no medication be taken on the morning of the day of blood tests for that reason, just take it after blood is drawn. I expect you know to take the blood as early as possible in the morning so that the TSH will register as high as possible, being subject to circadian rhythms it will be lower later in the day.
It is to be hoped that your dosage was not reduced on the basis of the TSH. Was it explained to you why a reduction from 100mcg to 75mcg was thought appropriate? Would you like to make the results of the blood test which dictated the reduction known here?
Oh let us know how you get on I am going to buy the tests too
