Last night I started taking my levo at night to avoid clash with food and drink. To day I feel awful could it react that

quickly that I have low T 3 so want to give levo best chance of converting to T 3.

Thanks Piedo

Hi Piedo

I did just that last night and woke up feeling truly awful with shakes, anxiety and exhaustion all at once. Wonder what others'experiences are? I have no idea yet what my T3 is up to.

Cheers

Jayne

Have a look at this poll that was done a while ago - it will take a lot of reading as there are 158 comments telling you what others experienced.

Yes you could react that quickly but you need to give it at least a week, preferable two before you know whether it will work or not. You may also suffer headaches until your body get used to the new dosage time. Obviously if you start to feel really ill then change back to mornings but a lot of people on here say they feel ill when first changing.

Hi, I changed to night-time on 28th May but the only significant change I have seen is that I sleep a bit better - don't know whether it is connected. As it doesn't seem to make any difference to me I will stay on night, that way I don't have to wait to have a coffee with milk in the morning, so it suits me from that point of view and at least I can rule out any interference by calcium.

If you took some in the morning and then the same night, you could be a little bit over, but it should pass. If, on the other hand, you took it not the same night but the following night, you might get a period when you are a bit under!

Either way, it should soon sort itself out. If you continue to get symptoms of being over-medicated, it could mean that you are absorbing it so much better, you might actually need less.

Anyway, give it a week or so and see how you feel then. I know a week can seem a long time when you want results - I've been through it myself!

It was really worth it in the end because I sleep better and I don't have to think about what I'm eating since I hardly if ever eat after 7 pm and I take my Levo around 10pm. It's so much easier. Remembering it can be a pain to start with, but it comes with time.

Thanks again Marram

I will keep taking at night because over all I think it will suit me better ,sometimes this thyroid business gets you down I wish I hadn't,t had it removed, but I had a multinodular goitre that had grown quite large so I would have had to have it removed eventually.Having been fit and well before it s hard to feel.so awful now.Still as my mother always said ,there,s always someone worse off than yourself, So onwards and upwards

It would help if you told us a bit more!

Maybe you are under-dosed and you had used up a lot by the time you rose?

Maybe you are over-dosed and this has improved absorption so made you more over-dosed?

Do post some more information, please!

Hi I had a TT a year ago Was on 125of levo which was reduced after 3months to 100

Last blood test 7 weeks ago told to reduce to 75 which I did .After 2weeks I felt awful so went back to 100. dr says my T3is low and has been since op.. My body isn't,t converting T4 toT3so I ve been looking for ways to aid this,ie taking supplements etc also stopped having soya products which I ve had for years for Ibs.thought taking levo at night would help absorption.Still taking 100

Hi, I for the last four weeks have been taking my levothyroxine 125mcg at 10pm. For the last three years I had been taking it in the morning without food with water or tea. As for now taking it at night I found for the first couple of days I felt awful, had headaches etc but since then have been as right as rain. I've found I have more energy first thing in the morning but get really tired at about 6pm, it worked out fine for me but I guess each person is different. From different sources some people find it better than others. Oh and I always take mine with a hot cup of tea, right or wrong thats my way ;-)
