Should I ask for another colonoscopy?

Ibs as got really bad again had a really bad bout for nearly 3 months and it settled done for three weeks or so, one flared up worse than ever, terrible pain, hard stools with ' leakage' so unpleasant! I had a endoscopy and colonoscopy about 6 years ago which came back fine apart from. Polyp that was removed and consultant said I had a mild hiatus hernia, do you think. Should have these tests done again to make sure as been a while? Did hear there was a les invasive colonoscopy you could have? Thanks for listening, lucykris
