I have Diverticular disease and had a Colonoscopy in 2018 when polyps were found but I was not told!!
Having another Colonoscopy tomorrow due to recurrent Diverticulitis after waiting months.
I have had a really bad chesty cough for 3 weeks which is almost gone but when I do cough it triggers my asthma. I am now so frightened it will be dangerous. I don’t really want to cancel though and wait even longer. Anybody had a Colonoscopy whilst suffering Asthma and low O2 levels?

What I suggest that you do is contact the place where you are having it done!!! As they can tell you more OK I am sorry I can't be of any use on the matter and wish you well for when you get it done take care xxx
All went well. Apparently having a cough is no detriment. When you are having sedation they give you Oxygen which I had not recollected. So I was absolutely fine. I was advised to keep my inhaler nearby and my BP and O2 levels were monitored throughout.
Interestingly Polyps were not found??
There was a problem visualising the Sigmoid on the return journey of the scope. So they did not manage a full examination of the Sigmoid so I may need another procedure.
The results were scattered Diverticulum in Rectosigmoid to Caecum area😳
Oh my goodness I am glad that is over for now. It wasn’t too bad at all.
Did you feel much with having the sedation? I've got a colonoscopy on Tuesday, the last time i had one, I was in so much pain when they tried to go around the left bend into the transverse...worse then childbirth and I had gas and air. This time I need to be sedated buy I worry I will be In pain and not able to say
Scandalous you weren't told about the polyps . For heavens sake that's one of the main reasons colonoscopies are done but sadly NHS healthcare is down the pan...no pun intended!Good luck.
