I understand what you're going through. I suffer this terrible pain on virtually a daily basis and the scary thing is there doesn't seem to be any obvious cause, so there isn't anything I can do to prevent it. I've suffered ibs since 1981. I'm now 51 and ,if anything ,the pain has been getting worse these past few years. It's making my life an utter misery.
I too am finding that it's getting worse the older I get [53]. Was also diagnosed in 1980. Up until 3 months ago it was a sort of minor type of ibs. Then, suddenly, abdominal pain that is there 24/7. Sometimes it's a pain I'm aware of but, at any given time, if pressed in that area, its sore. Going for a colonoscopy next month just to eliminate diverticulitis or inflammation of sorts SO annoying! just want to live life normally with NO health issues!
the pain is awful as is the bloating, I can sometimes look like I am 9 months pregnant, I have to have two sets of clothing one for normal and one for bloating. The pain is evil though. I've had trouble with the bowels since I was a little kid, the doctor used to say it was abdominal migraine, I will have it for life.
