I'm 7 days from coming down with covid - a horrible experience. The worst symptom now is nausea and it's relentless. I can't even chew mint gum because everything tastes awful.
Anyone else had this and if so, how did you manage it? Some foods taste revolting and the rest have no taste. I can cope with this but the nausea is debilitating.

I had exactly the same back in May. Had the standard symptoms for a few days though no loss of taste/smell. ......but nausea was the worst thing! It lasted about ten days, and totally agree about it being debilitating! (Apparently newer variants can cause more gut symptoms). I had very small, non fatty meals. Ginger tea helped a bit (fresh ginger steeped in boiling water then drunk cool). Wishing you well!
First time I got Covid I felt nauseous and had to push myself to eat. Lost my taste and smell which made the reduced appetite worse. So I ended up choosing spicy foods which I could taste faintly otherwise it felt like I was eating cardboard.
Third infection definitely affected my gut. It took months to get it back to something more normal for me.
Hi binks, I hope you are fully cured now! 😀. For anyone else looking up this problem of nausea, I fairly regularly get nausea with a cold, due to mucus (snot if you like! 😁), going into my stomach making me feel horrendously sick, sometimes for days or a week. For about 30 years I tried, every single cold remedy you can possibly imagine, none had any effect. Then a pharmacist in Hertford, 20 years ago, suggested Actifed. I had no expectations for it whatsoever, as countless pharmacists had suggested things in the past, but it was unbelievable!! And whenever I now take it the nausea totally disappears , usually within about an hour, and it stays disappeared!! It is a miracle cure, and I guess the sickness people get in COVID is again due to the amount of mucus in their stomachs, so pop an Actifed, and hopefully it will give you that miracle cure I experienced!!
I remember when I got Covid in 2020. Nausea wasn't my first symptom, but weird heart sensations quickly followed by something similar to asthma were. My temperature was horrendously low in the first few hours and I lost all appetite. Then my fever started. At the beginning of the fever I felt a slight nausea. Not awful but a similar thing to when I usually catch some bug.
All I did was fast until it passed, and drank hot drinks -herbal teas, ginger tea, China tea (no milk), fizzy mineral water. I let my body do what it wanted to do, and it didn't want to eat. Though I did have spoonfuls of honey during that first day, just to keep my strength up.
Then my appetite came back and I had home made soups and stews.
The nausea didn't stay with me beyond the first 12-24 hours, and I wonder of fasting helped? So my stomach didn't have any work to do while the immune system was involved in a huge battle?
