I usually post on here in regards to my lower stomach issues but recently I've had an increasing amount of these symptoms
-heartburn, even after drinking water in the evenings.
-tasting bile and apparently smelling of it in the car. Also found yellow splotches one month ago on my pillow
-throat nausea. I have emetophobia and amazingly never get nauseated but when I'm anxious get tight in my throat and some 'episodes' such as today, have lasted about 2 hours. It started out as nasty hunger nausea and I was too scared to eat. I ate an antacid as I couldn't tell if the feeling was in my throat or stomach but the antacid taste has been lingering for its 2nd hour.. Water is helping thoroughly. I don't believe I feel sick anymore but my stomach still isn't normal.
I didn't sleep last night due to the storm outside and I heard that fatigue has an effect on digestion.. I'm feeling horribly exhausted so it could all be connected.. I also took it easy on the Christmas food, just having bread, turkey and potatoes but did have more chocolate than usual.
Does this sound like it could be GERD?

sounds like GERD plus anxiety or anxiety plus GERD , as we dont know what comes first , the "chicken or the egg" I have same thing , it is ongoing . Not much else we can do but take our meds and try to relax as best we can . It is a constant merry go round .Try to take good care of yourself
Hi Cheesecake17
This isn't really wholly in response to your heartburn/tasting bile but to Emetophobia. With a combination of The Thrive Programme (see link below) and CBT my Emetophobia is so much better. I'm no longer panicking as soon as I hear the word Norovirus mentioned on the news and I'm not worrying so much about a sickness bug going around at my granddaughter's school or my younger granddaughter's pre-school. I do still get some moments when I worry but I use the technique from the Thrive Book to avert my thoughts elsewhere. I am also a member of a yoga class and attend each week and I do find that very helpful as well.
thriveprogramme.org/thrive-... - this is a link to the book but I would have a look at the testimonials on the website, they are inspiring.
I also wanted to say that I've had a lot of indigestion since suffering with food poisoning back in November last year as well as loads of nausea and diarrhoea. I'm a lot better than I was but the way I dealt with the nausea was taking travel sick tablets, they helped enormously, I would have struggled even more without them. For the indigestion I put some Bicarbonate of Soda in water and drink it, although it's not that pleasant it really does work.
Here's wishing you the very best but please do have a look at the Thrive Programme and if you do purchase the book ensure you undertake all the exercises in the book.
