It does not seem to be licensed for use in UK either. I cannot find it on the British National Formulary list. It appears to be available from Korea. On the face of it, it looks useful.
Thank you for your comment. The active ingredient is PHLOROGLUCINOL. There is a research study currently being conducted in the U.S to test the drug for it's usefulness for IBS-D (ENDIVE study). I almost enrolled but after further investigation, found this is an OTC drug used in France and Spain. I ordered it and will try. I recommend anyone else that might try this to do their due diligence in researching the medication. It takes forever for the U.S. to approve a new medication through the FDA. I appreciate the safeguard, but something that has been available for years in Europe OTC, should be made available here more readily.
It's the same in UK, it takes ages to get approval, and when the licence runs out, OTC manufacturers are queuing up to make OTC versions. I know you are referring to phloroglucinol. That is how it would be listed in BNF. It isn't there, yet.
I have one i buy from Spain called Spasmoctyl (otilonium bromide), also called spasmomen. I buy it over the counter here. It is an antispasmodic, sometimes useful, quite mild. Not heard of the other one
