If you google vitamin D and IBS, there does seem to be some information that a deficiency in vitamin D can cause IBS. I also have a lot of bone/muscle aches, so I going to ask my Doctor for the test. Just curious if anyone here has low vitamin D levels?

Just out of interest, has anyone had vitamin D levels measured?
I know a lot of people with Ibs have vitamin defiency as there are son any foods we have to cut out our diet as they don't agree with us that's why I take a multi vitamin and probiotic every day
Yes we take a supplement multi vitamin because so many UK people are low in D, however I still have the IBS and just then needed to rush off to you know where.
Still it will be good for you to have a check on the levels of vit D then you will have ruled that out or not, as the case turns out.

Mine are low . My GP is really on my back about it. She wants me to take 2000 units which make me sick. Those little pills don't dissolve either and come out in my stool not whole but recognizable . I'm calling the health food store and asking for liquid Vit. D and also flax oil. Let you know how it works.
How does the vitamin D make you sick? All we need is something else to upset our stomachs!!
iv never thought of that i wil try that thanku x
I am having mine read in a couple of weeks and will report back!
recently devloped IBS on top of diverticular disease and following a prolonged bout of diverticulitis.Because I am on prednisolone(for a different condition) my doctor ordered a bone profile and vitamin D tests. My vitamin D levels were very low so she gave me a weeks booster course with Dekristol 20000iu of Vitamin D.This not only helped to improve my various aches and pains but seems to have improved my IBS.I would definitely discussed this with your doctor.
Glad you have had success with vitamin D. There is a lot of information on this at vitamindwiki.com/tiki-brows...
