Left side pain: Hi looking for a bit of advice... - IBS Network
Left side pain
Hi. I have mostly IBS-M too. Over the last 18 months I've suffered from a dull pain to the left of my pelvis but near the front rather than the side. I went to see my doctor about this and ended up having a colonoscopy. Turned out it was just the effects of constipation! I go to the toilet but am unable to empty, then it turns to diarrhea (sorry if too much info.) Best get it checked out but hopefully nothing serious.
Hi, me too. IBS M with 2 days so far this week of constant pain in left abdomen. For me the pain is always on the left. Getting a colonoscopy at the end of the month as have just had 2 months of persistent c then d. Seemed to have stopped but now new pain. Started using Buscopan but not helped so have added Colpermin. Hoping it works.
Yes I had this pain really bad for 6 weeks convinced myself it was sinister paid for ultrasounds..nothing there to worry about had a fit test positive so out of my mind with worry..had a colonoscopy but nothing..them it just went...as quick as it came ..I get constipation alot so prob the effects of that...my doctor basically said jeanette sometimes we get pains then they go with no explanation although I know its not always the case...with me alot is anxiety as I do hsve health anxiety ..try to keep your bowels clear incase its that ..Good luck but if poss try not to worry I know its hard x
I too suffer from IBS & have recently started having pain left side lower abdomen. I have been to A & E twice recently & was told it was acute diverticulitis. I am awaiting a CT scan to confirm this .
I was told I had a few spots of diverticuli last year after having a colonoscopy. I have never had a flare up like this, I seem to have a good day & then a bad day.
Might be worth a trip to your GP to get checked out.
Things like this can be so worrying.
Thanks for your advice. Appreciate all the help from this forum. Was thinking of going to a&e but thankfully it seems to have disappeared so far today 🤞
Hi! I get a pain on the left hand side just under my hip bone - I've been getting it for years, on and off. I just take it as part of having IBS. I'm not trying to make light of it - it's worrying, I even went to A&E at one point, it was so painful, but it just seems to be part of having IBS. If you search, so many people report the same thing. Everyone is right, get it checked out as it's worrying you, but I'm so used to it now, and it disappears once I've had enough bowel movements, then reappears like clockwork next time I have an attack, I tend to just add it to the general hell-pains of having an IBS attack. You so much have my sympathy, though.
