Yes I do for several weeks at a time, then nothing for ages. I was diagnosed with long floppy colon aka elongated colon with IBS symptoms.

Are your bowel movements affected? Are you getting any other symptoms?

Yeah, I get it both sides but left mainly. I've self diagnosed with costochondritis as the pain goes to my chest wall. The Dr also agreed it was likely.

Treatment options... get on with it! 🤦‍♂️ I'm exercising, stretching and having osteopathy but it's always there, it's just about managing it. At this stage I feel like I'm just living with it sadly

Yes I get it on both sides just under the ribs, but strangely since I was put on amitriptyline for fibromyalgia it is much easier.

I get pain there with my diverticulitis is playing up, have you been seen by your GP? It’s always best to see a professional first

Yes! I attributed it to (maybe?) Ileocecal valve dysfunction (there are You Tube exercises -tho’ the ex. Never helped ). No doctor ever comments or offers any suggestions,if u find answers , please post Thanks bh

The ileocecal valve is on the lower right quadrant. The splenic flexure is on the left side about where the OP describes. It could be inflamed or maybe waste is getting trapped there and having a hard time moving past.

Started with this left side pain 5 years ago. I've had all the tests, gastroscopy, 2 colonoscopies and everything is clear apart from a small numberof diverticula. i'm convinced it is trapped wind in the splenic flexure. Often more painful to lie on my left side than flat or on right side. Passing wind usually relieves it but sometimes it can persist all day. I describe it as a "stitch" like pain. Colonoscopies and CT scan have shown some thickening of the horizontal section of the colon so I suspect the colon is less flexible where it turns. Just my thoughts but I've learnt to live with it now I know it is nothing sinister.
