this week a gastroenterologist confirmed I have SIBO. I have previously had biopsies and other causes of my extreme discomfort have been ruled out - I’m basically healthy. I will take the antibiotic and also the rate of my stomach emptying will be measured - she said if it’s too slow there is a med to help that. In the meantime I continue with docuease to help the IBSC, which I can take much easier than cosmocol. 🤞 🙏

NHS gastro says SIBO
I spoke to a gastroenterologist back in May. I explained all my symptoms including the bad breath and she said it could be SIBO. I was to see a dentist before my next appointment in November. Fast forward to November I spoke to a different gastroenterologist, I told him nothing wrong with my teeth. He said SIBO test not accurate, nothing wrong with you and hung up!!! My Doc said to tell the dietician (passing the buck) she said she would speak to gastroenterologist. I'm left in limbo. I bet I never hear anything and it will be another year before my next coeliac check up. Where do I go from hear.
Yes it’s well accepted that you can get false positives. However I have decided to trust the decision - I’ve had various tests which I understand are part of the diagnosis. My symptoms are a nightmare and it’s certainly worth putting myself through the treatment in the hope that I could improve. I will be letting folks know what the outcome is in a few weeks time - yet to get the drug.
I am sorry to read the reaction you received It must be difficult dealing with coeliac if you are getting unhelpful diagnoses as well.
