has anybody taken lactulose and movicol on the same day ?

I suffer with a slow transit bowel with severe constipation and it has got very bad again. This morning I took 4 tsp of lactulose but very little difference. Am I ok to start the movicol sachets today as think likely impacted

I would check with a Doctor or Pharmacist. You could try Ducolax which is a strong stimulant laxative. Then go back to your usual one.

Try Laxico. Stimulants can be very painful.

Hi yes it’s ok to take both I also suffer with slow transit bowel and have taken both in the past I’ve also had an impact ion and taken a micro enema which you can buy over the counter at any pharmacy my usual meds now are prucalopride, Dulcolax and Alflorex which is a probiotic however still struggle with constipation wishing you all the best and hope you feel better soon

Hello, Don't mind me asking, but I have a slow bowel too. How many days have you gone, without having a bowel movement?

To be honest I dont go from one day to the next ( had this for years) and tried everything known to man . Had thought I was doing ok with combination of lactulose/senna but then suddenly started to feel really backed up ( have had several compactions over the years) so since Friday started on the movicol which I had a few left from the last time so had 2 Friday/3 yesterday/ 2 so far today and absolutely nothing. Getting worried now as took months the last time to clear

Did you see your Dr or just start taking the medicines? I usually have a couple of days each week where I don't go, but haven't been able to since Wednesday. Started some stool softeners and stuffing water and prunes down! Never had Movicol but do take Fybogel daily. Thanks for replying, hope you see some results soon. x
