Botox

I had Botox last Wednesday, for the pain in the sphincter due to a fissure and proctalgia fugax when i go to the loo.

I had Botox a few years ago and it worked, and lasted for ages.

However this time the pain when i go to the loo is worse than before, and I don't seem to pass much. Its not like the motions are hard, and I'm not constipated. I don't remember it being this bad last time. I have also had a headache every day since.

Has anyone else experienced this, I hope this is going to get better like tomorrow!

Hi, I've had 2 sessions of Botox, the first at st Mark's hospital London 4 years ago.It didn't work instantly but then kicked in for a good time. I had it done again in Coventry but did not work so well. I'm desperate for another appointment as sitting on my rear is painful. I have not suffered many headaches though. My symptoms started at age 70 out of the blue.I was extremely fit and active. Now there is not much qualify of life with the pain which is constant.I've tried so many things and seen people privately. Recently had 12 sessions of gut directed hypnotherapy at a cost of £1300 but it didn't work.I do miss my life with family and friends and knowing that the complaint never goes away is depressing.

I am sorry your symptoms are so bad and painful.Mine is slowly getting a bit better. I had both my Botox injections done in Coventry, but the second wasn't done by my consultant as he was on holiday, and you cant knock back appointments as they are hard to get! Although it shouldn't matter who did the jabs!

Ask your GP to refer you to Mr Ling Wong colorectal and general surgeon at university hospital Coventry and Warwick. He doesn't do private but is worth waiting for. He is caring very kind and very good. He teaches at Warwick Uni as well so is very experienced. His secretary is very approachable as well. Chase your appointment and tell them you will take a cancellation you may get seen quicker.

I do hope things improve.
