Hi does anybody experience continual gurgling in the stomach and excess wind? This seems to be a new symptoms with my ibs, it also seems to make me feel dizzy and really out of sorts. I am following the Fodmap diet religiously and taking probiotics again but so far no relief. Any advice?

Extreme stomach gas with ibs
Simethicone works well for me
I get times when my guts gurgle for no reason I can understand. They just do it when they feel like it I suppose. And gas...well when I wake up in the morning I am like a balloon which has deflated. During the rest of the day I pass no gas at all, except sometimes about three tiny toots a few hours after dinner .
Most of the time that is painless. But occasionally if wind gets trapped it is very gripy. Then I make a nice hot tea, and hold the teapot on my tummy while it brews. That helps. I do colon massage, and lie on the floor. The relaxation will help release any trapped wind for me most times. And I do find strong peppermint tea helps.
I read online that generally we (healthy normal people) are supposed to fart anything from 10-20 times a day. I only do it about 4 or 5 times! So it makes me wonder if there is TOO much gas or whether my gut is just being over sensitive to anything happening inside. It's hard to say. Or maybe I pass most of it first thing.
Avoiding gas forming foods can help. Though that doesn't always work. Broccoli is one of my 'safe' foods generally.
But the gas culprits are usually foods like cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, any lentils or beans.
Yes, a very windy gurgly tummy person here! I take Buscopan, Ginger or Peppermint tea, Charcoal tablets when it's really bad. Sometimes probiotics make wind worse.
Priobiotics can make wind worse, esp in the beginning
Thank you for your comments, I will monitor how I go with the probiotics. I thought ibs was supposed to get better as you get older but mine has definitely got worse!

My IBS seems to gave got worse as I have got older. Or is it because you worry more with age. I have started drinking peppermint tea after dinner and chamomile mid afternoon. I also take a probiotic which did make symptoms worse at first. But things are not too bad in the case of wind. I also eat at the table and try not to rush my food.
