Yes, you can get surgery to tighten valve and control GERD, nissan fundliopocation or LINX. However, both of those have drawbacks and can have complications. I have benefited a lot by taking slippery elm, marshmallow, DGL, and aloe vera several times a day and before bed. Also elevate head of bed, no eating 3 hr. before bed, low dose of protonix every morning. My issue is mainly regurgitation, not so much acid or bile. But I did have Barretts and last scope had healed it to lowest level by these methods. Best wishes
