I have posted on here before to help people. For years was told I had IBS by the GP constipation diarrhoea stomach pain in bed for days I realised I had never been sent for any tests . By this time very ill was diagnosed with inpaction at the hospital after an exray . I had a colonoscopy best thing I ever had as it showed I had a long bowl and now have to take two laxatives a day for the rest of my life which helps. You can suffer from constipation and overflow diarrhoea where you have to stay on laxatives for a few days to totally clear you out hope this helps someone

Symptoms of IBS but not IBS
I don't think I could take two laxatives a day..this may be laxative abuse and may cause a cathartic colon. Were you under a care of a Gastroenterologist or Colon and rectal specialist? Two laxatives a day is a lot, and I would be on toilet all day, and not be able to go out anywhere so I could stay close to a toilet. I am surprised they didn't recommend stool softeners, which are gentler than two laxatives daily, or Probiotics, or even prescribed medication such as Trulance, Amitiza, Relistor or Linzess. I take one laxative a week..just on Sunday's..Senna-lax. I do take daily stool softeners, and ground flaxseed or strong black coffee..more natural laxatives and home remedies. Is there anyway you can get a 2nd or even a third opinion to get you off the two laxatives daily?
Was given Laxido one in the morning and one in the evening
No never got to see a Gastroenterologist or rectal specialist thank you for your reply
I have the same condition. Told to take Movicol.
Unfortunately, Movicol (Miralax in United States) does not work for me. The only thing that works for me is 8 Senna taken on a Saturday evening. The next day I am done by 11am. I wish I did not have to rely on a once a week stimulant laxative..but I have tried everything I know of and nothing works except Senna. I am glad it is working for you. I took it a few times and it made me have awful cramps even taking the lower recommended dose. If I did go when I took it I had to "strain" and the stools came out in a gelly, sticky mess.
