Relieve trapped wind pain fast???

For some reason tonight I have got trapped wind in the top of my stomach. It’s very uncomfortable!

I don’t have any medication at home to try and can’t get out until morning to get some.

Are there any home remedies that work for trapped wind?

Let us know how you get on. Does the pin radiate round to your back or just tummy?

The pains mainly in my back between my shoulder blades, my tummy gets bloated but not very painful

It might be gallstones. Very painful but I'm no doctor. I think you should ring 111 and have a word. If it is gallstones the pain can last for about 5 days. xx

i’ve always found laying on my stomach fully stretched out for about 15 minutes helps with the passing of wind 🙂. only just seen this, so hopefully you are better by now.

Try a weak solution of bicarbonate of soda to drink. Half teaspoon per cup of warm water.

I've had some joy with this exercise, that I got from Dr Ben Kim: While lying down, take a deep breath in and hold it. In this state, use the pads of your fingers of both hands to gently but firmly massage your abdomen from the bottom border of your rib cage all the way down to the top border of your pelvis - put another way, through the entire length of your abdomen. Exhale fully. Repeat this cycle five times.

Not sure if you remedied the situation but i always have charcoal tablets for trapped wind and peppermint tea or capsules. Walking can help too to help digestion. Hope you feel better. 😊

I'm no doc but this sounds like acid reflux or GERD. In which case you need to keep upright. Sometimes.es the best course of action is to do nothing. Stop filling your tum with pills and potions and let nature do its work. I know it's awful but In my experience it has eased off after 24 hours. We all wish it was 24 seconds! There is no quick fix nature takes its time

I’m not on any medications for it yet I don’t really want to go on anyway just wish I could get a bit of relief. It’s making me anxious all the time because I’m always waiting for it to start off again

Hope you’re feeling better and have maybe seen a doctor. If it’s not a medical emergency you could try charcoal capsules. Also try lying on your left side, knees partially drawn up to your chest, and hold a hot water bottle to your tummy. I’ve had attacks like this when I’ve consumed lactose by mistake. Lacteese tablets also help in that case.Good luck!

Thank you for the reply!Where do you get the charcoal capsules from?

It’s horrible isn’t it. Wish it would go away I didn’t suffer with it until after I had my baby so it’s strange that I am suffering with it now!

I’ve bought charcoal capsules at health food shops in the UK and pharmacies in Australia. They’re not a good long term solution, as they apparently interfere with the absorption of nutrients, but they’re good occasionally. Have you read ‘Gut’ by Giulia Enders? She has some good suggestions for different problems and provides a brilliant overview of the whole digestive system.
