Hi everyone. I just wondered who can relate so apologies for “tmi”. Everyday I have soft lighter tan stools (type 6) and today I have never had a bowel movement that large. I’m assuming it’s all stress I can’t get a solid bowel movement as I eat very clean, no dairy and very minimal gluten. I don’t eat sugar or drink caffeine. I have a constant “nervous feeling” in my stomach almost like a churning and nausea!! Usually I have a bowel movement in the morning but last week I was going around 4 times a day now it’s back to once. I’m 22 and was diagnosed with IBS at 15. Is this the norm for others too? I have had all sorts of blood work, ultrasound, endoscopy. Had a colonoscopy to diagnose IBS years ago and am going for a gastric emptying study on Monday. I’m going to ask for a stool sample test to rule out inflammation or IBD though I just had a endoscopy a few weeks ago and know sometimes they can show IBD but mine was perfect. Demented😓

IBS isn't usually diagnosed by a colonoscopy, as the irritated bowel moves around. What they look for is other bowel issues, ruling those out leaves IBS.I'm sorry you are going through this. I have had IBS for 27 years, and have probably experienced every symptom of it at one time or another.

From how you describe your issues, you are not having symptoms from food triggers but anxiety. So have you looked into ways to cope with that, like CBT etc.

My symptoms have changed numerous times over the years, it's needing to adapt unfortunately.
