Well I am now day 5 of taking pregablin & fingers crossed I am feeling so much better, it seems to be managing the pain & I have only had to take oramorph once & that was only because I panicked when I woke up with a bit of cramping. Day one was fun as I felt as high as a kite & didn’t stop smiling all day! The consultant did say to start me on a low dose of 50mg however when I went for my prescription they were 150 mg! But I thought in for a penny.....
Apparantly pregablin works with pain dominant ibs by blocking the pain signals going to your gut. It is pretty amazing to think that somebody discovered this! Anyway I will keep you all informed as to if it carries on relieving the pain.
I am due to see the rectal surgeon on Tuesday, which I have had to pay private to get an appointment in less than a year, this is about the intusseption & rectocele. See how it goes 🤞🤞

Is pregablin safer at lower dosages, I get awful pain with my slow colonic transit and overflow diarrhoea, I'm too frightened to eat foods because of this condition and I'm so underweight, even drinking water sets me off, it's ridiculous. I have been prescribed amitriptyline but I know that can cause major constipation as a possible effect, I know not everyone experiences that though, is pregablin better for the visceral pain?
I don’t know but I tried amitriptilyn 3 years ago & it didn’t help but maybe I wasn’t on it long enough. Within a day of going on to pregablin I feel better.
Mmmm why do they give us gabapentin I’m on been on for 10 years physically addicted. Not good. Doctors are dishing these and there as bad as opiates. Amber x
