SIBO or ibs

Hi I don’t know if anyone remembers me posting about my SIBO diagnosis. Please anyone who has been suffering with awful ibs symptoms that are not feeling better after going on a low food map diet then Please get tested for SIBO small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. I had never heard of it before until my diagnosis finally on antibiotics started them yesterday. If anyone needs some advice please let me know. Amber x

Hi Oscar,

Thanks for posting. I'm hopefully going to get a SIBO test soon. Apparently some doctors are sceptical about SIBO but thankfully my GP took it seriously.

I've been on a low FODMAP diet for a while now. My gut symptoms have improved but I'm still frequently suffering with fatigue, brain fog, sinus headaches and general achy-ness in my muscles.

Let us know how you go after the course of antibiotics!

I totally agree! Also anybody with IBS, or are told it may be ibs should get a test to rule out h pylori. Homehealth Uk is a good site to get some good fast test kits for many bowel conditions.

Thank you for replying yes definitely I was tested twice for h pylori I really thought I had it x I even called a homeopath doctor who said it was parasites but I couldn’t afford to go to him x anyway a year later suffering every day my symptoms are nausea upper abdominal pain weight loss no appetite not good x anyway my family ended up paying for a private doctor who said he thought it was SIBO straight away I had the test to confirm it x just hope I start feeling better soon just started the antibiotics I’ll keep you updated x amber

How are you now? Which antibiotics did you use and did you combine it with probiotics?

Glad your feeling better and yes some people are unaware they have sibo and being fobbed off with ibs x
