Had anyone taken omeprazole for stomach cramps

Omperazole is more acid reduction for reflux, I took them for years and they actually gave me stomach cramps, I had to come off them for a colonoscopy for two weeks and haven’t taken them since. Mebeverine or Buscopan are really good for stomach cramps. Hope you find a solution. Take care

When you had them for acid did you get pain abi d your waist?

I did, but I suffer from really bad reflux. I must say since I’ve stopped the medication my reflux has hardly played up and I don’t really have upper pain unless I’m having a flare up. If I feel a niggle I take gaviscon extra strength and that seems to settle it along with painkillers, but everyone is different . Hope this helps, take care

Omeprazole is for gastric acid and not cramps. You need an antispasmodic for that like mebeverine or you could try buscopan
