MEdian Arcuate Ligament Syndrome

Does anyone else suffer from this very rare syndrom (MALS) where the coeliac artery is squashed by the arcuate ligament diminishing blood supply to the stomach etc. I was diagnosed in 2006 after suffering from IBS for years. It can be operated on but I was considered not bad enought for that. Since then my consultant has retired and my new gastroenterologist does not comment about it although I tell her. I recently lost a bit of weight which concerned me and then had bad indigestion. The GP gave me pantoprazole as I find omeprazole gives me colon pain. The indigestion has gone but I still have pain in my rt ribs where the gallbladder is and round to the side. I would love to find someone else with this condition in the UK as the only forums I can find are in the US.

Hi I have just joined today - have you managed to get a definite diagnosis of MALS? I am also in the UK
