Since last Monday (The 9th), I have had problems passing stools mostly constipation. Prior to this I had eaten frozen food and fast food for a few days as I was home alone with no home food. At first I thought this was normal so I tried fybogel which didn't do much but then I started to having feelings of being bloated in my lower abdomen/rectum even after passing stools. This bloated feeling is akin to wanting to pass gas or a stool it's pretty uncomfortable and some days its ok others its pretty bad, I should also mention I don't have cramps or pain after having eaten food. I have been drinking plenty of water these days too and typically eat home food such as potatoes, pasta, chicken, beef stew ect. So while I have managed to pass stools every day since last Monday, it has only been with strain and I never felt as if I was emptying my bowls as I also didn't poo out regular long turds but just small bits of poo at a time.
A few days ago I started drinking a cup (250ml) of prune juice in the morning which has helped me pass some stools with little strain albeit the bloated feeling ends up coming back. Today I had prune juice and that caused me to have some diarrhoea after passing a solid stool. But anyways I am just really confused on what to do. I have never experienced this and I can't even go to my GP for a face to face consultation because of the coronavirus situation, my GP just asked for a stool sample that can be tested which I sent. I am really getting fed up of this and I am looking for any advice that someone could possibly suggest. Thank you

To get a definitive answer, you will have to wait until your GP has done the necessary testing on your bm. In the meantime, in order to alleviate the bloated feeling, and for your health, in general, you should reduce your alcohol intake and also stop drinking fizzy drinks. Drink at least 2 -2.5 litres of water every day, and avoid eating peanuts and sweetcorn. It may be just, a case of Delhi belly, bearing in mind the food you were eating, immediately, prior to the upset.
Yes I will have to wait unfortunately. The bloated feeling sometimes isn't as bad such as today however I do always feel that my bowls are never emptied and that there is constipation. I avoid all fizzy drinks, drink plenty of water and only had 1 pint of beer these past few days. I don't eat peanuts and sweetcorn anyways so that's not a concern too. And I read about the Delhi belly but that apparently should last at most a week. This has been going on for about 10 days
It sounds like you have developed leaky gut / sibo. I would highly suggest you ONLY drink water, get yourself some oregano oil, neem, berberine, allicin and digestive enzymes until you get your results back. You may have candida overgrowth. Don't eat ANY sugar (read the label on everything), carbs, and limit your fiber until you get your results back to avoid it getting worse. I had the same symptoms and because it took so long for me to get diagnosed (doctors had no freaking clue) it got way worse for me before it got better.
Sibo seems to be characterised with diarrhoea and abdominal pain which I don't have. Also I don't take any antibiotics or medicine so I'm sceptical if it being that. But yes I'm drinking mostly water and rarely some grape juice. I should try to limit my carbs though as I am eating food with carbs here and there. Sucks it took you that long to get diagnosed how are you now?
Hi, unfortunately they told me after a week that I didn't give enough of a stool sample (I managed only 2 small bits of poo at the time) so I have to give it in again
On Sunday I went to the hospital, got my blood tested and everything was fine (except for my vitamin D being a bit low). The doctor prescribed me Cosmocol which I have been taking for about 3 days in a row so far and it hasn't helped me much. I uped the satchets to 2 today so hopefully that helps me. As for the yakult I haven't really tried it I just tried some activia probiotic shots but again they don't seem to be doing much.
