Has anyone found that they have a negative reaction to chives? I've added them to my homemade fried rice this week and something is upsetting my tummy....I'm starting to suspect it's the chives. I'm 99% sure that onion, or any foods that have been in contact with onion...think Greek salad, are triggers for me.
However, I'm a bit confused about chives as they are a herb and apparently don't contain FODMAPs. I'm on a low FODMAP diet
Would love to hear your thoughts.
All the best

HI Narelle, yes chives should be ok I am ok with spring onions. Did you put soy sauce on the fried rice? That can be a trigger? Good Luck. Once something sets our tum off it can go on for a while. Chris
Yeah I just don't think they are my friend...not 100% sure though. Will cut them out and see if that makes a difference. I use gluten free tamari instead of soy sauce. I agree once my tummy is off balance its more sensitive and reactive for a little while for sure.
I avoid anything onion related as it upsets my gut. Raw onions give me serious stomach pains.Even onion/garlic powder in things such as crisp flavourings can set me off.
