I'm confused - am I recovering?

It was almost 9 months ago I took two shots of liquid Flucloaxillin and got the worst case of post infectious Ibs. I'm actually under the belief that I had c-diff as after 3 weeks after taking the two little doses I had water coming out. I was petrified and horrified especially seeing as I was doing my masters degree. I somehow finished the degree after everyday spasms, gas, cramps, constipation and lots of d* and have been out of university and work for 4 months and must confess I feel much MUCH better. Generally I'll only feel the gas and spasms if I'm anxious (I am a lead singer and we've lots of shows this year so I've had no choice but to change my diet and do very diligent meditation everyday). However, I believe the only reason I've gotten better is due to Imodium. I take it once every 3 weeks and usually feel fantastic until another month swings round and my guts are loose. I understand its all about what goes in so I've cut out coffee, garlic, onion, gravy, broccoli, sprouts, acidic fruits and juices and fizzy drinks (cider doesn't bother me, weirdly and I usually have 2 a month). I've also gone from having 100g of chocolate a day to around 100g per week, switched from potatoes to sweet potatoes and have soy milk with oatmeal. it's great but I'm losing lots of weight and so I allow myself white bread and pasta - this is absolutely miraculous. I have no issues when I stick to these except for hard stool which sometimes bungs me up for a couple of days. Is imodium this good lasting me almost a month or is it my diet change?

If you are female, does the timing of needing to take imodium coincide with your period or the week before your period? If so your IBS might be being triggered by your hormones.
