Hello

I'm just after a bit of advice I get pain in my colon mainly in the lower right side quadrant, it feels like a pulled muscle sometimes and other time a stabbing pain or a dull ache, the pain moves to diffrent place anywhere from the lower right up to the right side, under the right rib, under my belly button then under my left rib, it is intermittent which area it affects. I can also feel the pain in the lower right when I'm walking I don't know if a coincident. I think the doctor is convinced its IBS and said he would be extremely shocked with all the tests I have had done if it was anything else. I have a colonoscopy Friday. I get all sorts of muscle aches and pains these days. Has anyone else had IBS symptoms like this before. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.🙂

Great that you are having a colonoscopy on Friday that will help to tell you if it is ibs or not

It couldn't come quick enough, it's all the blood tests and ultrasounds you have to have and then waiting for the results. It has been just over three months. It's a rollercoaster of a ride for the anxiety levels.🙂

Yes my main source of pain is on my right side kind of feels someone is squeezing my insides on bad days, but yes the pain is there everyday and then spreads on flare ups. The Dr said I've got a bad case of Ibs, but I hope the colonoscopy gives you some results.

Hi, I get everything you have described. When my IBS started nearly 35 years ago it was always on my left side but over the years it has moved to my right side. I have come to the conclusion that diarrhoea manifests itself on you left side and constipation on your right side. Over the years my IBS has changed from IBS(D) to IBS (Mixed). Now I get pain all over but still find it's left side for D and right side for C.

Had the identical same pain for three years, had my gallbladder removed but most tests came back clear. I take colesevelam after getting tested for bile salt malabsorption this was positive test .. and this has helped. Drop bread and meat and I eat loads of fruit and veg and I mean loads and pain has dropped by 50% .. still this dull ache and pressure to a degree and I’m certain flare ups will come again. But my massive diet change has helped considerably.. good luck with everything

Google ileocecal valve. I had similar pain and found that massaging this area helped a lot. It helps reset it. It's worth a try and can't do any harm. Good luck!
