Sudden sore tongue and dry mouth aged 60. Acid taste in mouth.
Other than that very fit and healthy. Take no medications. My main concern is bad breath & teeth issues.
Has anyone taken fish oils or similar to help with the dryness?
Any tips welcome!

I too have this, no solutions though. Please let me know if you get any solutions. Have you got any medical conditions?
No medical conditions & I lead a healthy lifestyle. I’ve given up coffee and trying apple cider vinegar but not really helping.
I’m wondering if it’s my age. I’m 62 though it started happening at 57! It happened overnight. I felt as though I’d burnt my tongue.
Did yours happen suddenly?
Yes it did, I find fruit burns it really bad.
How lovely for you to be well apart from this.
I got fibro at 47, then ra at 55 along with depression and have had a gut and liver problem for 7.5 years causing me to eat very little but gain 3 stone. Life can be difficult. Wishing you well
I get it and am sure it is acid travelling up the oesophagus whilst I sleep and burning my mouth and throat. I use ranitidine and esomeprazole and raise the head of my bed on bricks these all seem to help . Good luck weavie
Thank you Brainbox. I suck on Gaviscon tabs just to help alleviate the burning. I also gargle with bicarb of soda.
Would love to know why I’m not producing saliva anymore.
I’ve started using Biomin toothpaste to help with enamel protection but it’s very expensive!
Let me know how you get on.
There is a alternative to saliva on prescription it's called either biotene or proline. Keep the acid down that's the main thing I think
