What are the symptoms associated with H Pylori? I am going to my Gastroenterologist next week and am going to ask to get tested for it as i have been having non stop gas and bloating for months.

If you have had it, is the only treatment antibiotics or are there any natural treatments?

My friend said she just felt off. A co-worker talked her into seeing her doctor who tested her stool & found she had H. pylori. Her doctor might have had a higher index of suspicion for it because of my friend’s Asian background, hard to say.

Hmmmm. Yes.

Both my daughter and I have had it and to be honest, the symptoms are far worse than gas and bloating. I would compare it to having a stomach ulcer or ongoing gastroenteritis with sharp pain and cramps in the upper stomach area for me and lower abdomen for my daughter, the pain felt worse when my stomach felt empty which is why I initially thought it was an ulcer - which it turned out I'd also developed as a result of the untreated H Pylori.

There was also nausea and my daughter suffered from loss of appetite but I was eating to stave off the pain.

My natural remedy for the gas, bloating and pain was DGL Licorice Root - Fantastic!

Unfortunately, not enough to put an end to the worsening pain so did a stool test to confirm H Pylori and was put on antibiotics - which appears to be the only medical treatment known to the NHS.

Soon after, pain in stomach worsened and I developed Melena as a result of taking Naproxen and brufen family of drugs onto delicate stomach devoid of licorice.

Had an endoscopy - awful procedure - confirmed ulcer was quite bad resulting in bleed.

More antibiotics. No more naproxen - much to my chagrin but replaced with pain patches that appear to help somewhat.

Much better.

The end.

Hope this helps.

So so sorry I wasn't as helpful as I could have been in my previous response. I made it all about me and had a rant instead of being more constructive.

When it was suggested that my daughter might have H. Pylori, I did infact look natural ways to treat and hopefully cure it as I'm not too keen on antibiotics.

My research at the time, took me to someone online called Dave Hompes who appeared to focus on natural approaches to the treatment of H.Pylori.

Some of what he says includes:-

Dozens of foods, herbs and vitamins can fight H pylori, including garlic, broccoli sprouts, green tea, turmeric, ginger, cranberry, coconut, mastic gum, licorice, lactoferrin, and so on.

But it’s how you use them that counts.

The H Pylori Diet shows you how to do it in a simple, structured way.

I confess, we only stuck to the diet for less than six months but it did appear to help somewhat so we've incorporated much of it into our regular eating.

As previously mentioned, still had to have the antibiotics in the end though.

All the best going forward.

Probiotics any fermented foods I have researched it a lot due to my husband having h pylori his has gotten better since I got him the probiotics and garlic pills plus he tries to make sure to eat garlic raw onions and he takes 2 tablespoons of the brown vinegar a day mixed with water you have to be sure and mix it with water because the acid in it will rot your teeth. The reason we didn’t want him to do another round of antibiotics is this, The antibiotics kill off the good bacteria in your stomach and h pylori is a bacteria also but after the round of antibiotics he took the first time they made him sick he got really weak on them and they did not eradicate the h pylori they made his stomach raw and ate up all the good bacteria. Now I’m not a doctor but from what I have gathered from reading up in h pylori and no doctor has ever told us this cause I think they are not to well educated on h pylori is that everyone has it in the gut some people never have any problems with it while others do. His doctor told him that he was clear of the h pylori when he went back she done a blood test then come to find out supposedly a blood test will not show if it eradicated the body only the breath test does so I really think doctors need to learn a lot more about h pylori cause we haven’t been to a doctor yet that seems or talks like they really know what it is and how to get rid of it which you will never be completely rid of it cause everyone has it. You have to rid your body of the symptoms and keep a healthy gut . But the fermented foods and probiotics have helped my husband way more than the antibiotics did. If you decide to amid the antibiotics I would make sure to have some the best probiotics and make sure to eat lots of fermented food while on them and a month after you finish them I hope some of this info helps you cause I have seen my husband suffer from it. I tested positive for it but I had no symptoms of it when I had my gallbladder attack and I have never taken anything for it
