My triple therapy treatment ended on 12 January 21. So its been just over 2 months.
My symptoms have improved significantly over the last 4 weeks despite being off omeprazole for last 20 days. However in the last couple of days a bit of acid reflux has come back again (basically feeling of something stuck in the throat) which had gone away completely.
Is it normal to have acid reflux symptoms come back so soon. Does that mean bacteria may not have completely cleared? I have today submitted my stool sample for test. Hoping for the best.
Have people who have successfully eradicated h pylori had these ups and downs in the months following treatment. How long did it take to fully recover?

It’s taken me now over 6 months. I now take a daily pro biotic and I find peppermint caps before meals 3 Times a day really settle things down. You may end up having a bit of mild ibs in the future as the bug can upset the gut sensitivity
I’ve been off omeprazole for over a month now but sadly still get reflux, being off it has slightly helped ibs so I’ll put up with reflux for now but searching for something to help with that , no joy yet
After severe chronic abdo pain my 12 year old son had H Pylori triple therapy treatment which seemed to work for approx 3-4 months but then his reflux and abdo pain crept back in. In the meantime we had tried probiotics etc to regenerate his gut flora. They re-tested him and he is H Pylori negative. Nevertheless about 3 months later we did another antibiotic course to rule out any remaining infection and hopefully give him some symptom relief. Unfortunately this time it had no effect whatsoever.
He is now on amytriptaline with suspected functional abdominal pain syndrome FAPS but his pain is still severely debilitating most days. The latest theory from dietician is that it may have triggered IBS, now trying FODMAP. Early days but he has had a few that are 'not too bad''.
Would love to hear from anyone (especially parents) going through anything similar.
