I found Buscopan really helped my IBS (wind on left hand side and pain plus general feeling ill) but the GP said it had been associated with dementia so I stopped. I’m thinking of trying Colofac as peppermint capsules don’t seem to help. Anyone found Colofac helpful?

Colofac versus Buscopan
Hey!
I've been taking duspatalin (same molecule as colofac) for a few years and I've found it to be the best antispasmodic for me. More effective than buscopan and peppermint oil and I've not noticed any side effects. I used to take the slow release caps (200mg) and they would work for 12 hours. Now I take the regular ones (135mg) about 20 minutes before a meal, 3 times a day and it really helps with the pain and winds and I have less bowel movements (I have IBS D) with it. I definitely recommend it!
Although I have noticed that after a few years of using it, it tends to work less. But I only need to switch to another medication for a week from time to time and then restart duspatalin/colofac as usual and it works again.
I hope this helps! Good luck
