After effects of colonoscopy and endoscopy

Hi everyone. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy yesterday because of ongoing ibs symptoms. Thankfully the results are clear.

I'd just like to ask if anyone has had similar symptoms afterwards.

I have some discomfort when swallowing hot tea or anything rough. Custard seems to go down well though.

I had alot of bloating, bubbles, excess gas, burping etc and I now have righthand side chest pain and upper mid abdomen. Could this be more trapped wind? I read they pump gas into the colon for this procedure.

Anyone have any similar experiences after having these procedures.

How long do the symptoms last if they're due to the procedures.

sorry to hear that...i love a cuppa tea too. is it the same with green tea.....finn

I had exactly the same problems after my scopes. It takes a couple of days for the sore throat to go and a little bit longer for the gas to go and your bowels back to normal. But don't worry, what you are experiencing is completely normal, however, everyone is different so your recovery could be quicker or a little bit longer.

Just wondering how long before I'll have a bowel movement. Its been two days now. But the pain from the endoscopy is getting less now I must say.

Hi Becky. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy today. I have had abdominal discontent and lots of trapped wind since the colonoscopy but otherwise ok. Hope all is well with you

Thank you. Things are improving although I've yet to have a bowel movement and am experiencong acid reflux which I didn't have before. But I'll give it some time and hopefully all will settle down soon. Im a bit of a worrier 😏.

I hope all goes well for you and your stomach gets back to normal soon.
