I suffer with gas/bloating/constipation sometimes diarrhea but mostly constipation. Majority of the time my flare ups start lower right side belly button up to upper right pain. What is it about this area of the colon that causes the most pain? Does anyone else get pain in this location? And on rare occasions during my flare up my stomach has a fluttey pulse like sensation with pain, any ideas?
I have been dealing with this as well. I do know what you are talking about with the fluttery pulsing sensation.
It seems Ashleylr as if we re suffering with similar symptoms & getting not very far with getting it sorted out, I've had mine for mnths now & still no where nearer to getting to know what it is
I have the same for 3 years now,I have had colonoscopy endoscopy and ultrasound done which have all come back clear I am having an mri scan next week but am not very hopeful for answers.
I have been gluten free for 1 week and it has helped with my diarrhoea it’s a long battle but do keep on at the drs and get any tests you can.
I have also pain in shoulder and knee all on my right side hopefully I will get some answers and fingers crossed 🤞 you will too.
Hi. Yes I too have similar sensations including bloating and wind, I have had two flare ups recently, then all settled down it's strange. I have been taking a recommendation from health food shop called centaury it's a liquid tincture which helps digestion. I only take when I have a flare up but it seems to help settle things down
I also drink peppermint tea and avoid caffeine. It's a real trial and error process. 🙂
I have had pain in my right side going round to my back, and bad reflux had a scan and it turns out I have gall stones, getting surgery Monday, maybe worth a try to ask for a scan as symptoms can mimic IBS C which I’ve had for years , am hoping when they take my gall bladder out all symptoms will improve.
I had the exact same symptoms and much more. Turns out I had diverticulosis. That pain in the right side can also be your ileocical valve which separates the small and large instestine. Sometimes it can get stuck and does not open properly to allow movement of waste. You have to massage the area. Here is a video that explains how:
Also, I ultimately healed myself completely without medication by doing one thing... FASTING for seven days. I fasted with absolutely no food 24 hours per day. The only thing I consumed was herbal tea with organic honey, organic ginger, and organic tumeric three times per day during all 7 days. It was not that difficult. I simply made the decision to give my entire gut system a reset and see if it would clear out any infected diverticula. It worked! All the pain, gas, bloating, constipation, discomfort,etc... gone!!!! I've been feeling great for months and I eat anything now except I limit my intake of dairy products (they tend to cause me some bloating).
Fasting, in my opinion, is the best way to combat the chaos in our gut. Try it out. Seven days of discipline in exchange for total relief is a bargain!
Hi! I had my last colonoscopy because of this problem on the right side and they could not find anything wrong and I have heard this Ileocecal valve issue several times before now re-raised by Guttrouble777 so I think I might look into it, perhaps we should both look at this video and see if it helps
I have had that fluttery feeling...feels like your pulse is in the abdomen, I think it do to the overactivity (nerve) of the colon...
My issues have been with me from 2011, but mostly bloating, indigestion, excess gas and constipation,...diarrhea was not common. I haven’t been to a doc yet. Will soon but I unlike what I have read believe ibs is more a symptom than a condition of sorts of the unknown
Over the past few weeks of flare ups I believe it could be any of the following or a combination
Fungal overgrowth -bad bacteria
Food sensitivity -particular gluten (which I may add is in everything
Poor absorption of vitamins
Hormonal imbalance
Leaky gut (gluten)
Nerve damage (lower back) herniated disc..
Or irritable bowel disease since my major pain has been on the left side
Recently I have done what the doctor asked in the past. Eliminated foods...and it has been tough. No oils or fats (except olive oil that is okay), no fried foods, processed foods, which is hard because everything comes in a packaged and most have sugars and gluten. No dairy not even lactose free products (I haven’t tried oat or rice milk but I would like to try), no cabbage, broccoli or any gassy veg or fruit (only blueberries, oranges, cantaloupe) no beef only chicken and fish.
Clearly the more gas filled foods, the more discomfort and runny tummy. Using Ovol and Imodium to deal with the two major issues. But my colon feels like someone is playing the drums inside of it!
Fasting totally for 7 days for 24 hours a day. I personally would never recommend. But if it worked then great stuff.
Our bodies need food, good, wholesome stuff. Nothing processed or containing artificial sweeteners. There are system cleanses out there that don't mean starving yourself for a week. Our bodies need vital nutrients to function. No nutrients, in whatever form will result in other systems being compromised, not just your guts !!!
