This pain I have got in my right side & had for about 7 mnths now has got really bad again & woke me up during the early hrs last night & it took ages to settle back down again

Whenever I go to my doctors & see the same nurse, she pokes about in that area & asks for a urine sample, this time if it ain't no better by my days off from work gonna ring the surgery & ask for a call back from a GP

Your appendix is on your lower right side-is the pain that far down and has your GP surgery mentioned anything else it could be? Sorry for all the questions but because you are in pain so much it can cloud your judgement about where the pain radiates from

I had the same issue and it was caused by a large gallstone. My GP wasn't convinced this was the issue however after further investigation they removed my gallbladder and I haven't had the pain since. I would request a ultrasound scan of your gallbladder to see if you have any gallstones.

It may be serious constipation. Unless of course you’re going regularly. I had terrible pains in the right side to the point it was painful to bend over and tie my shoes. Went to the gp and he said it was constipation. It can slowly creep up on you which I found weird. I was going fairly regularly but it slowed down slightly and all of a sudden I got the pains. The nature of ibs! Gentle laxatives might be worth trying to see if the pains ease. I’ve found GPs to be fairly useless with IBS incidentally, they just put it down to “one of those things” like dandruff or something mildly irritating, not realising how complex it can be. Best of luck.

Couldn’t agree more with your description of the GP! Useless in my experience 🙄

Hello, I agree with these posts, you should get a second opinion on this. IBS tends to radiate around and gives different symptoms, but if your pain is really localized then they should look into this more. Good luck.

Hi Linley, it's lower right hand side & is very bad after eating, can last for a very long time. Gallstones, kidney stones, something starting with P & outside appendix have been mentioned, but never followed up on, I was passing small stones @ 1 point, but don't think so anymore

Thanks everyone, it woke me up again last night & probably will again tonight & all the nights that follow

Latest update is that it's either a grumbling appendix or gallstones, awaiting a call to book an ultrasound as been put on high priority as ended up in A&E not that long ago due to the pain & been back to the doctors as well
