Recently diagnosed w/IBS-C. Although I "go"every day - it's smaller/thinner/less solid.
I tried all 3 doses of Linzess but discontinued b/c of severe cramping and diarrhea issues.
Today I took dose 1 of Amitiza. Although side effects less severe than w/Linzess, I'm wondering if this is something I should try "pushing through".
Question is: what is likelyhood that days 2, 3, 4 will be easier? My bowels are in a bit of an uproar. Tomorrow (day 2), I'm supposed to ho to a movie @ 4:00. I could take the RX early tomorrow morning but I'm concerned.
I can't find anecdotal info about the first week on this RX.
PLEASE give input

Hi, I wish I had an answer..but am experiencing the same thing. So..due to severe diarrhea (they say it gets better over a few weeks). Maybe you can give the Amitiza a few more weeks? I went back on Senna (one day a week) and stool softeners which don't do much. I was prescribed Trulance, which gastro says does not cause the severe loose stools as Linzess and Amitiza. But have yet to take it. There is also Relistor and I have heard people have success on Prucolapride (I think that is how you spell it). Maybe give the Amitiza a little longer?
