Bleeding every day for the past 6 weeks

I have had IBS for years. Sometimes its in control other times not depending on my stress levels. I have have had all the procedures for a diagnosis plus two horrendous operations. Haemorrhoid removal operation plus a sphincterotomy a few years ago. Now unfortunately internal haemorrhoids are continuously bleeding every time I go to the loo as often as 3/4 times a day. I usually ignore this but this bout has been going on a long time now. The blood is always bright red not black so I have not been overly concerned apart from the discomfort which over the years I have learnt to tolerate. Should I be at all concerned?

Must see dr to rule out other causes of no bleeding

Have you tried drinking at least 4 glasses of water a day plus tea coffees etc

May help with piles

Thanks George I am trying to drink more water every day I know its important. I don't drink coffee and the only tea I have is peppermint as that helps sooth the gut. Thank you for your reply it appreciated.

Hi KC. You might have an anal fissure. I know, it sounds awful, but can be repaired by surgery. I had the same 2 surgeries as you, 3 years ago, but they also repaired the fissure. Go back to the surgeon or GI Dr to be checked. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I had a fissure that was sorted by the sphincterotomy. This is definitely internal haemorrhoids. Fissure the pain is intolerable this is not the same. Thank goodness, I could not face that procedure again.
