I know it is so hard and I really feel for you, I struggle with it really bad but just don’t want to stop travelling and going away as I love it but it is always a struggle. I have to do private transfers too as I can’t get on a coach anymore. What do you struggle with most while your away? X

Sleeping, hard beds and the food. I need a good quality mattress that has give in it. I need it cool and dark to sleep. When If i dont get sleep, im stressed and then it all kicks off. Im restricted with the diet and it causes me serious stress when I have to eat out with whoever Im with. This condition isnt compromising at all is it?

No it’s not. Have you tried all inclusive? It might make you feel a bit more at ease as you can get everything food wise and your in the hotel so any flare up you can go straight back to the room. It might make you feel a little bit more settled? The beds is a tough one as you don’t know this until you get there really. It’s hard, I understand x

Hi Anna, I have tried the all inclusive ... oh god never again! Im better trying to go to a restaurant where I can chose from the menu and ingredients. Some places more helpful than others. Its just when your travelling with others you can't always be the only one that has a choice of where to eat. Im relieved someone understands the bed problem, ive been in a situation where im thought of making a fuss over nothing. What do you do? Where do you eat? Im amazed you've managed to stay in travel with the problems you've had. Congratulations for persisting and finding away around it.

Thank you but I’ll be honest I’ve spent years feeling really bitter about how my life has changed because of it but I feel like that feeling has finally gone and I’m now just trying to find how to live the best life I can with ibs. It’s mega hard don’t get me wrong but I just want to have an amazing life! I keep trying different things to see if it helps me and I did come out of travel for a year but missed it too much as I just love what I do. It’s been a struggle.

With regards to going away I don’t really have issues with the beds and sleeping so it’s not something that bothers me but please do not feel like your making a fuss because you are not. You need to do what makes things better/easier for you. I find the all inclusive a good option but eating out can be fine but I feel like you do with the bed that I’m making a fuss and being a pain so I do understand.
