Hello everyone, I was wondering whether anyone had had FMT. If so, would love to hear your stories.
Many thanks

What is FMT?
Hi b1b1b1,
It’s faecal microbiota transplant. Basically it’s when someone’s healthier poop is transplanted. It’s done similarly to a colonoscopy.
I understand. Did you have it for c. difficile? I have read that is the main use for FMT. I have also read that it can be very helpful and is becoming a bit more widely used. I hope it helped you.
I haven’t had fmt but am definitely interested in it. The Taymount Clinic in Letchworth does it in the UK and they don’t just do it for c diff but for a range of gastro problems. I have colitis and diverticular disease. Not been diagnosed with c diff but sure I had it after being in hospital 2 years ago.
I assume going to Taymount as not available on NHS. I have had IBS for abt 15 years and would like to consider FMT but not sure I can afford it.
I done it in 2016 when senna stopped working after 10 years as my last resort. Got off senna, but still, 1~2 days good days the get bloated, blocked up cycle persisted. I though feel that bad bacteria must have been reduced partying there from life time of constipation. After that due to the cycyle and not using laxative for a year (laxative is restricted with post FMT diet which diet I was already on) resulted in rectal prolapse and surgery.
But I did not know at that time, only recently diagnosed with slow colonic transit, so, it did not resolve my issue unfortunately as I hoped, at that time or still, want to try whatever that may work, you know.
maybe it can help IBS ( they said on the website too that no gurantee) ? Short term or long term I do not know.
