Months of pain in my belly
I get the sense you are relatively young, and you have seen the doctor, so it is unlikely to be anything serious.
Yes I recommend blood tests to see, if those show nothing that may put your mind at rest and the pains may then subside. Do not be made to feel dismissed by a doctor or anyone on here, if you have a concern push to see a different doctor in a few weeks/months and say the pain has not gone and you want a 2nd opinion.
If it was kidneys they say you would most likely feel pain in the back I believe but not 100% x
To rule out other gastrointestinal issues, you'd need the tests outlined in the second box down in the diagram further down this page:

If you are formally diagnosed with IBS after having these tests performed (i.e. the tests come back clear), here's some information about pain in IBS:
In the location you talk about there may be a consideration of GERD (acid reflux):
Kidneys are not above the belly button, they are either side. Under the ribs.
I am no Doctor but what you are going through to give you some kind of peace of mind I would try and see your GP if you can get an appointment if you can!!! I just wish you well

This sounds like acid reflux to me. You don't always get heartburn. It can cause bad inflammation of the esophagus and even cause an erosion. I had this in just the place you are describing. I was given meds to stop the acid so it could heal and changed my diet. I found I was intolerant to wheat. I now take gaviscon sometimes if I get the tell tale signs. I also do sometimes have to go back on meds if it flares up. Mainly because I make the wrong food choices. You need to get this diagnosed. I'd try and see a different doctor and ask if it could be acid reflux. I also get a mucous cough with it. It can also make your heart race and make you feel anxious. It really is a horrible thing to have so please get some help. I had to see a gastroenterology specialist and he helped me so much. All the best.
It could very well be stress. I've been anxious my whole life and it's amazing what a little bit of stress will do to my stomach/digestive system. I scared myself into thinking I had melanoma a few years back and then had months of gastritis. It was horrible. I also had areas of inflammation in my bowels which was found after a colonoscopy which came back "normal." I know it all stemmed from that moment of fear. I was also going through the empty nest syndrome during that time and was really struggling emotionally.
I'm so sorry for all you went through and im so grateful for you reaching out. I was starting to think doctors are just gaslighting me because they don't want to send me to a gastroenterologist. How do you treat inflammation? I really don't want to be hospitalised because it brings really high stress to me and because i catch a brand new sickness in the hospital. Last time i went for my knee, i caught so bad stomach bug that i start to shiver when i see my country's communist style hospitals. I don't know if i have inflammation, i probably have, but i really don't want to be hospitalised to be diagnosed and treated. How is it treated? Can it be treated with natural remedies and probiotics or do i need meds? Thank you again
My inflammation went away on its own, it was probably caused by stress which dumps too much acid into your stomach. I'd use an acid reducer like Famotidine or Omeprazole, eat frequent small meals, stay away from foods that are spicy or acidic, and try to reduce stress. Also, Tums might be helpful. Wishing you the best, and I hope you feel better soon!
