Long story short had (I thought) a recent break through with use of a probiotic and my symptoms improved massively. Some days my bowl habits were completely normal some days a little wind and still waking a little early for a bm but no where near as badly. Anyway yesterday and again today I'm back to square one 😔 painful cramps waking me up at 4am, very loose bm, feeling jittery, nauseous and a very noisy tum. No idea what I could have eaten as I've never found a particular food trigger. Had a couple of days over the start of the week where I wasn't taking my probiotic cos I left it at my Mum's but it was only three days and I'm back on it now so shouldn't I be feeling the benefit again?!
I'm just so fed up!!

I. Can sympathise just when you think you are ok you feel bloated and waken up with awful wind in early morning have to get up and walk and go to toilet keeping to the same diet and it happens out of the blue you can. Wait and hope it passes I wish I knew what to take or do.
I can only sympathise I'm afraid. I haven't tried a probiotic but the same thing keeps happening to me. Every time I try a new tablet or cut out a particular food the pain goes away but a few days later all back to square one. I also can't identify any trigger food, just random things set off the dash to the loo. The pain is always there now. Currently waiting for a coeliac blood test so have to eat gluten ( which has had pretty much eliminated for the last two years) but while I am getting other symptoms and feel crap, its not affecting my bowels so not got much hope that is what it is. Hope you find your triggers soon. Also fed up!!
Sorry to hear about your situation. I never miss a dose of my probiotic at all. Better not to. But probiotic takes time to work.hope it starts working for you again. I am up right now at 5:00. Feeling a little wind. No pain yet. I can understand. Pl don’t let it get you down. IBS is also triggered by your anxiety. I try to keep as calm as possible. But it’s not always possible.
Hi I use uni enmyze pro. I live in India so I don’t know if you will be able to find it where you live as medicines are very specific to countries. But I have to add I have very mild symptoms of IBS d. I also use a peppermint capsule for my gas and a natural fibre supplement. You shld chk out heathers tummy tamers. It’s a website called help for IBS. Her stuff has also really helped me. But I shld add I do follow the FODMAP diet very strictly as well.
I use this one. Have also used the yeast one which worked quite well for me but they recommended you take 6 tablets a day and at £21 a pack of 80 it was working out too expensive. There are lots of others but this brand seem really good.
Thanks for your replies. I had another few better days which was good but this morning I'm up again with it but not as bad. Think the reason now is I've got a cold come on. My immune system seems to be linked with it all somehow.
Weirdly looking forward to my appointment with the gastro team in June. Hoping to get some guidance and some personalised advice.
