My 16 year old son has said that he has been struggling to go the toilet for the last few months (to pass stool) he said that hardly anything is coming out and also when he tries to pass wind he finds it difficult and has to strain to pass wind and he said it sometimes hurts too, i asked him if it also hurt anywhere else and he said it hurts around his bladder area, he also said his stomach felt hard so i pushed in and it feels really solid and when i pushed into it he said it hurt
I did search up some problems and one of them was stomach cancer which did leave me abit worried but it says its not likely for someone around his age and he isnt showing any other sypmtoms. Luckily he is showing symptoms of other things such as ibs which leaves me really relieved for myself and him.
Does anyone know what this could be and lnow what he can take, im just thiking he might need some sachets to take or something to releive him and help him release it.
Im not sure if its ibs he has.
Thank you

He should see a gastroenterologist. Unless you are a doctor, it is difficult to diagnose yourself or anyone else. No one here is qualified to give a medical opinion.
It is quite likely to be constipation. In Britain the doctors are unlikely to diagnose it. I would try him on some constipation remedy first and then if that does not work get to the doctors. Dont leave it too long though as even something we think is not serious can cause serious problems. Hope it goes well.
I would give him some lactulose solution to take every night before bed hopefully by morning he will have movement! I have always had trouble with it since baby and now have permanent problems coz of it so get it sorted whilst he young.
I found out i was gluten and dairy intolerant that why i had probs so it could b that or it could just b he eating bad food when ur not about and u need to change his diet, i had to totally change mine, loadsa fruit and veg and i go every day.
Whatever though get him to dr coz he could b impacted? And u need to get him checked out
It could well be a blockage in the bowel. Not as bad as it sounds. Can get medication to clear it from the GP. I think for piece of mind a trip to the GP is probably the way to ‘go’!
I'd ask for a referral from g.p to see a gastroenterologist to be on the safe side as I have a daughter who has a bowel condition and she goes to see a specialist often. Perhaps your g.p may give your son something to lossen his bowels. If it's on going he should see a specialist.
I was diagnosed with IBS after a colonoscopy but you can't diagnose health problems but see a g.p.
